Ask Yourself These Questions Every Month

Ask Yourself These Questions Every Month

As I’ve shared with you how to visualize, identify, and overcome (hopefully) all of your hiring and retention challenges, there’s one more recommendation I have for you that I want you to put into practice.

You see, it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day hustle and bustle of the office. This is why so many challenges go unnoticed in the office, whether it be hiring and retention, company culture, performance reviews, etc.

What I want you to do is open up your calendar and set aside 20 minutes every month to ask yourself the following three questions:

  1. Can you identify the most significant people challenge your boat/organization is currently facing?
  2. Can you identify the cause of this challenge? Is it your crew/staff or a product or service?
  3. What steps and actions are you currently taking to fix the challenge?

The key to success is consistency and application. Consistently pausing each month to reflect on the above allows you to:

  1. Identify challenges that are just beginning to redirect/fix quickly
  2. Identify challenges that seem to recur (maybe it’s time to try a new approach?)
  3. Identify what previous challenges have now been resolved (Yay!)

As you answer these questions, consider what resources or people are available to assist you in resolving them or working on them. These could be individuals or resources within or outside your organization’s walls.

Did you add your 20 minutes a month to your calendar? Please do it now before you forget!
